Account and Data Deletion
This page explains how to delete your KOIKO account, what happens to your information when you do, and what we are required to keep. It applies to the KOIKO app published by JACK CAPITAL SDN. BHD.
Delete your account from the app
- Open the KOIKO app and sign in.
- Go to Account.
- Choose Delete account and confirm.
Deletion takes effect immediately. You will be signed out and will not be able to sign in to that account again.
If you cannot access the app
If you have uninstalled the app or cannot sign in, email [email protected] from the email address on your account, or include the phone number you registered with, and ask us to delete your account. We will verify that the request comes from the account holder and complete it within 30 days.
What is deleted
When your account is deleted we erase the following from our records straight away:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- Your date of birth
- Your profile photo
- The push notification tokens registered to your devices, so the app can no longer send notifications to you
Your access to the account is removed permanently and cannot be restored.
What is kept, and why
Some records outlive the account. None of them carry the personal details listed above once your account is deleted.
- Order and redemption records. We are required to keep these for accounting, tax, fraud-prevention and dispute-resolution purposes, and merchants' settlement statements have to stay accurate after a customer leaves. These records remain linked to an internal reference, not to your name or contact details.
- Reviews you posted. These stay visible to other users but are no longer shown under your name. Ask us at [email protected] if you want them removed as well.
- Usage and diagnostic data already collected. Analytics events, crash reports and session recordings are keyed to an internal identifier rather than to your name or contact details, and are deleted automatically at the end of the retention periods set out in our Privacy Policy (30 days for session recordings, 90 days for crash and error reports, 12 months for usage events).
